Chapter 5 Agreement

After lunch the next day, Link led everyone through the basement passage and headed towards the preparation area.

There were no figures in the other two prison cells on both sides of the passage. I don’t know if they were defeated in the fight a few days ago, or were preparing for today’s battles elsewhere.

When the arena opened, there was always a stir in dozens of prison cells, but today it seemed extremely peaceful.

When you come to the preparation area, you can see from the gap of the door panel used as isolation that there are already spectators sitting in the stands.

"It seems that we are getting more and more popular."

"Today is still the same rule, and the battle is quick and decisive."

Before long, a guard came from a distance and opened the doorbar. Link thought he was here to remind him to prepare for the battle.

"Everyone... something went wrong."

The sound of the face armor guards came from behind the face armor, and there was a little buzzing.

Link looked at him in surprise, and Tony and others behind him also stopped moving.

"The 'Tiger Robbers' that was fighting against you today gave up, so you may have to wait a while to choose another team to fight you."

"There is still such a thing?"

Link felt inexplicably that as a slave gladiator, he could even give up.

The face-armed guard looked at everyone and complained secretly, "Isn't there no hope of winning the battle with you? Both battles are ruined, and if you lose, you will have to be punished and punished. If you don't keep a living, can they not be afraid?"

"Lord Harvey was also very angry. That group of thieves will be sent to the black mine. You will never think of it in this life."

The waiting time was not long, and soon another group of unlucky guys were selected.

It seemed that when the host's trumpet man explained the delay in the battle, the audience was even more enthusiastic about Link and his party who could make their opponent surrender and admit defeat with their cruel reputation.

As soon as Link and the others entered the venue, the audience shouted "Link! Link!"

He took a quick look at the audience, "It was almost full today."

There were also audiences in groups of three or three in the private room. Unable to find the old manager, Link retracted his mind and prepared to fight.

The battle process was not easy to go, and it was still as powerful as a textbook. The only highlight was the "honest man" Jon, a recognized "honest man" in the team, who "showed off" his opponent after the war.

The "farewell" process was bloody and exciting. Listening to the screams and cheers in the audience, Link thought that they were all here to see the final execution.

Not everyone has the perverted recovery of Link and others. Once there are irreversible injuries such as broken limbs and blindness, what is waiting for them will not be much better than digging black mines for the rest of their lives.

So Link wasn't ready to persuade Jon 'Honest Man'.

On the fourth day and the fifth day, there was no accident, and Link and others easily took it.

Once again, he was taken to Old Harvey's office.

Link pushed open the empty wooden door, and the huge deer-headed specimen was still the one that caught his eye.

Turning his head to look at the old manager behind the desk, he was responding with a smile: "You did not let me see it wrong, Link."

After saying that, he picked up a stack of files on the desktop and reached out to Link: "This is what you want."

Link held his breath, took the document and looked at it intently. It was indeed their slave contract. The thick kraft paper was covered with bright red seals, which meant that the document had the legality recognized by the Nord Kingdom.

“So can we talk about your future?”

The old manager sat back on his back chair.

Although Link couldn't understand the words on kraft paper, he felt that the old manager would not lie to him in such matters.

I continued to look at the kraft paper contract to avoid the embarrassment of illiteracy.

"You're so sure I'll agree?"

"Here," the old manager pointed at his feet: "No one can refuse my offer."

"In a foreign country, you have nothing but freedom now. People here will not accept a group of foreigners of unknown origins, especially they are brave and fierce gladiators."

"And I can provide the best conditions you can find now. Could it be that you are willing to take your buddy to the Harbour District as a coolie?"

The old manager quipped with the sturdy figure looking at Link's strong figure.

It is absolutely impossible to be a coolie. The pirates we met had already left Fengyu Port after their group was arrested. As a very xenophobic profession, it was not practical to want to "group together" here temporarily.

‘It’s better to save money here first, see the situation, and be ready to run away at any time.’

"In general, I still believe in your promise, and I have been in love after a long time."

Luan is a cunning old manager, and he never thought that someone could tell lies so naturally. The smile on his face flickered, and his expression management almost failed.

Seeing Link stretching out his right hand, hesitatingly stretching out his right hand.

Link walked forward and grabbed it, shook it hard a few times: "I wish us a smooth cooperation!"

Two people with their own ulterior motives finally reached an agreement.

"You can rest in the next two days, and there will be a big business in a few days to contact you."

"Oh? How big is the big business?"

"A golden snake coin is as big as a big one!"

Back in the arena, they called everyone to follow a male servant to the dormitory promised by the old manager.

Link had a single room, and his subordinates lived in two.

The dormitory is located outside the arena, opposite the three-story building, and there is a large public bathroom next to it. Link, who hasn't taken a shower for a long time, rushed over immediately after seeing it.

After taking a shower, after having dinner provided in the dormitory of the Gladiatorium, when he returned to his room, Link called everyone.

"How do you feel here?"

"It's pretty good, much more comfortable than the basement."

Indeed, the dormitory is clean and although there is no luxurious furniture or decoration, it is even cleaner than the private room in the tavern that Link slept.

"There is one thing, there is no wine here." The big bald Kenneth enjoyed drinking.

"Yes, yes." Everyone hurriedly agreed.

"Not even women, they are all male servants, it's so boring."

"Yes, yes!" Everyone then agreed.

"besides..."

"Enough!" Link was so angry that he knew that these guys had nothing good to say.

"What I want to say is that these are all the sugar-coated shells of feudal capitalism. We eat the sugar-coated shells and return them in full!"

Link looked at the stupid people, but didn't expect them to understand: "Take the benefits first, be ready to run away at any time!"

"Aoah!"

"I understand, I understand!"

"I'm familiar with it when I run away!"

...

"Tomorrow, accompany me to the city to see if there are any suitable equipment in the weapon store, and explore the terrain and prepare for running away."

Link paid 50 silver snake coins in advance from the old manager, but unfortunately the old manager refused to give more, otherwise he would have run away early today.
